Critiques:
Critique 1
0:02:55 – Critique number 1 is for Eric Bork, https://mikartoknifeware.com/.
Homepage: Haley recommends reducing the length of the banner image to make it obvious to users that there is more content underneath the image. The sales popup is commonly faked and has a horrible user experience on mobile. The team discusses why we do not use the color red for our CTA’s. Main navigation links should be revenue-generating links such as your collections. Mark recommends
Collection Page: Allow customers to filter between different style knives and sharpeners.
Product Page: Remove product image scroll. UVP’s are quite small and difficult to read, they also are quite generic. Haley discusses the clarity issues around the warranty offer and how this could be revised. Videos should be accompanied by a headline giving the video context. If the video has narration, it should be captioned for users who are viewing the video without audio.
Checkout: Add some support details within the checkout logo. Add some micro text within the email field.
Critique 2
0:27:30 – Critique number 2 is for Hemapriya Natesan, https://ancientmadurai.com/.
Homepage: Main navigation is missing on desktop and banner. Haley mentions talking about including certifications to prove its authenticity as this is really important for collectibles. Brad suggests some copy changes for the UVP banner. The team suggests utilizing the unique value proposition of being a doctor. Remove the popup review widget as it requires effort to get off the screen, instead utilize reviews in a more typical manner.
Product Page: Add to cart button color should be unique and not share the same color as other primary elements. Clarify the “Age” on the product page as the team misinterpreted this. The team suggests moving the tabs further up the page. Do not have reviews behind a tab, they are typically positioned at the bottom of a product page.
Cart Page: Remove quantity selector if they are all 1 off products. Remove the chat feature from pages if it does not have the ability to show the customer when you are available.
Checkout: Add support hours near where your email and phone number are located. Multipage checkouts should have breadcrumbs to make it clear how many more steps are in the checkout process.
