Critiques:
Critique 1
0:04:15 – Critique number 1 is for Krystie Yeo, https://shop.adapted4specialed.com/. Products geared towards Special Education.
Typically we advise not to use the color red anywhere we want our customers to click. Red is related to warnings and errors that we do not want our CTA’s associated with. We suggest using green, or blue. Remove ‘Catalog’ from the homepage and replace this with your most popular categories, the homepage is to provide clear navigation and trust. ‘Catalog’ doesn’t give your customers any information.
Product Page: Product images are all different sizes which creates issues with navigation, also remove hover zoom from product images as this is known to be glitchy and play up on mobile. Typically we limit the amount of product images shown, usually the less the better as long as you have showed off the product well and have a lifestyle image, this will improve site speed too. For the ATC button, we have tested adding a little cart icon to appear within the button with positive results.
In the footer we do not use ‘Newsletter’ or ‘Subscribe’, data shows that a minute amount of visitors will actually sign up to a newsletter. Typically we offer a discount after they enter their email. This way they are receiving value right away.
The team discuss how Krystie can improve the About Us page.
Critique 2
0:59:25 – Critique number 2 is for Svetlana Zhitnitsky, trivae.com. Kitchen Accessories.
The team started by critiquing a funnel Svetlana was building for a kitchen product. The background needs to be darkened so the text pops more and is more visible. The page needs to have another CTA throughout the content, visitors have to scroll right to the bottom before making a decision. Image sizes need to be the same size for congruency.
Tanner talks about possibly disabling the CTA pop up that occurs once the ATC is clicked if you have the abandon cart sequence set up through Klaviyo, linked to Funnelbuildr. Next Tanner and Matt offers some advice on optimizing Checkout process.
If you are going to sell a warranty, ensure you send your customers a separate email explaining how to claim their warranty if the unexpected does happen. This will avoid any buyers remorse.
Some tips and tricks on how Svetlana can improve her front end social media advertising, including humor and unique video ideas.
Critique 3
1:58:28 – Critique number 3 is for Selena Cocchiara McIntyre, https://stylishonesies.com/.
Homepage: If your business does not have unique offers for customers who make an account then it is more than likely useless and only a distraction on your site. Only have money making links in the main navigation, this means removing Contact links and putting them in the footer.
Product Page: Changing the CTA button text relevant to what stage of the funnel they are on. So for the product page they aren’t ready to ‘Buy Now’ they are looking to ‘Add to Cart’. Put yourself in your customers’ shoes and ask yourself what information you would want to know before purchasing, then articulate your answers into your own product description. Long winded copy doesn’t always provide more value.
