Summary of Jam Session:
In this sessions we did 2 critiques. Krista White – Dog Niche. Junior – Vegan VSL.
Additional Topics Covered: Getting Repeat Buyers, Optimal Image Sizes
Critiques:
Critique 1
0:15:50 – Critique number 1 is for Krista White, https://shop.adogslove.com/. Krista’s current issue is that she isn’t profitable. Krista asks the team to look for low hanging fruits or any tips/advice on how to turn that around. This store normally converts around 7-8% but AOV is only around $21 with a high CPP through FB.
Tanner mentions a few things that will turn lack of profitability around. Increasing the AOV is the biggest one. Adding bundles, higher ticket items and upsells/downsells. If stickers was one of the biggest sellers, sell packs of stickers instead. 3-packs or don’t even offer 1 sticker, have a minimum of two or 3 to increase AOV. Once you have your customer at break even on frontend you can sell them everything else on the backend.
Quick wins that would majorly help Krista’s business – Wheelio, Carts Guru and Bundles with higher ticket items.
Aleks notices the images on the site were much too big. This will negatively impact page speed which ultimately impacts conversion rate too. Optimal image size is under 70kb. 600x600px. Super compressed JPG.
This critique was mainly focused on improving repeat customer rate with existing customer lists.
Critique 2
1:17:45 – Critique number 2 is for Junior. Junior is asking for a copy critique on a verbal script that is selling a membership to vegan recipes, spreading veganism etc.
When you’re writing VSL’s, what you say and what you write are completely different. They need to be structured different. Being too descriptive isn’t always necessary. Write as you speak, if you can’t imagine yourself talking like that, do not type it.
Needs to be more open loops, to keep people watching and let them know there is a solution coming. Tanner gives multiple examples on how you can do this.
Noteworthy Topics:
0:35:20 – Getting Repeat Buyers: Making money on the backend is crucial to your business. Knowing your numbers and potentially losing money on the frontend to make your money on follow-up sequences through the backend. Store credit over discount codes are much more effective too.
1:07:30 – Optimal Image Sizes: Optimal image dimensions and size should be 600x600px and around 70kb.
