Critiques:
Critique 1
0:01:50 – Critique number 1 is for Holly Rhoads, https://www.catorilife.com/. Recycled Metal Jewelry
Homepage: The logo should be darker so the contrast is clearer. Navigation above the fold is very good, although “Ethos” is not clear enough, not everyone will know what this means. Search bar needs to me amazon-style. Needs to be centered and a lot bigger. If you do not have many customers making accounts, then this should just be in the footer and not high up in the hierarchy. Cart icon should be an actual cart, not a handbag and the text “Cart” should be below.
For best sellers on the homepage, you should only have 3 products across on desktop, not 4. Categories are too far down the homepage, best sellers can be below the categories. The homepage is to build trust and clear navigation.
Matt & Tanner offer their insight on how Holly should present her story on the homepage to build trust and likability.
Collection Page: Light text on a white background is incredibly hard to read and causes strain on the eyes. Remove the image and text so customers can navigate to their product faster. The team discusses filters. We do not recommend using quick views. It does not give the user enough information and they have to click through to learn more.
Product Page: Remove shipping calculation off the product page. Communicate with your customers that every piece is unique and 1 of 1. ATC button should read “Add To Cart” and have a cart icon within the button. Text needs to be black, not gray. Remove social sharing icons, you do not want your customers leaving your site. Make the “giving” about them! Let them take ownership of supporting you and helping the environment. Reviews app needs to be improved. Combine all the stores reviews on each product page, no one likes to see 1 review.
Cart: Too much white space on the cart, pushing the proceed to checkout button way down the page. Shipping calculations at checkout should be suppressed. On the product page it is called “bag” then in the cart, it says “cart”. It needs to be congruent.
Checkout: Logo isn’t optimized. Needs to include support details within the logo.
