    Critiques:

    Critique 1

0:15:20 – Critique number 1 is for Alyssa Isogawa – https://deepend.me/. Swimmers Apparel.

Casey mentions bundling stickers since the COGS are so low.

Homepage: The homepage is very busy, Matt suggests cleaning up the homepage so visitors have clear direction. Tanner mentions that brand story could be improved on. The best seller designs are very hard to see on mobile, this could be the reason mobile is converting poorly.

Product Page: Product images do not show off the designs clear enough. Casey mentions placeit.net to get your mockups. Tanner breaks down the UVP’s and offers his insights. Matt talks about looking at your store from a customer perspective, not as the business owner.

Checkout: Expand order summary on default.

    Critique 2

0:43:30 – Critique number 2 is for Heather Pich – https://modadia.com/. Handcrafted Jewelry

Homepage: Matt and Tanner give their thoughts on the exit intent popup. They also suggest using Wheelio because of the awesome results we have with Wheelio. We have a GSD solely focused on Wheelio set up. The layouLit of the site doesn’t represent the quality of the products. Reduce the amount of the words in the headline. Links in the header bar are taking users to unexpected pages. Product image backgrounds are not congruent with each other. Instagram feed bug. Use shoppable instagram feed app such as FourSixty. The homepage banner is confusing, Tanner suggests just removing it until you can get it dialled in.

Product Page: The UVP’s are all different size and different colors. Tanner shows an example of some decent UVP icons. The description needs more information and the product images fail to show off all the features of the product. Sell the story of the benefits of the product. Review colors are not congruent throughout.

Collection Page: Need to include filters for your products.

Cart: Only use third party icons such as PayPal. If you have a buy now, pay later option, make sure you let your customers know on the product page.

Checkout: Logo section should include support details. Suppress express checkout items until the payment page.

    Critique 3

    1:14:25 – Critique number 3 is for Laura Catella – https://edenbeautyskin.com/. Skincare.

Homepage: Products within the banner on mobile are too small and hard to see. Search bar needs to be more prominent. There is also no search on the homepage, the user has to open the menu to see the search. Casey shows off an awesome example of a comparison chart. Matt and Tanner discuss scroll depth and how knowing that data can benefit you.

Product Page: Too many images on the product page. Need to put information behind tabs.

Cart: Remove update cart button, since it automatically updates anyway.

Checkout: Show order summary automatically. Set up sms cart abandonment, if you like money.

Sales Page: Check to see how many people are watching the video, and what effect it is having on conversions. Discount call outs are not congruent. Have your CTA’s auto scroll them back to the variant options, instead of restating them multiple times down the page. Create your own personalized satisfaction guarantee, instead of using a clipart-ish image. Put sources behind a tab. Utilize Lucky Orange for scroll depth and watch user behavior.

    Critique 4

1:54:30 – Critique number 4 is for Tori Swaim – https://www.newarrivalsinc.com/. Baby Bedding.

Category Page: Layout of the collection page isn’t ideal. The fabric collections confuse the team. Typically you would not use collection images as filters. All the boxes above the filters should just be included in the filters. Quick Shop should just be “View Product” since it is taking them to the product page.

Lowest hanging fruit for this store is the category page filters.

Product Page: Variants need to be linked to product thumbnails so the customer can visually see what is included. Move the ATC button up above the copy, right now it is too far down. Remove hover from the ATC button. Bring the reviews out of the tab and put them under the description.

Cart: Tanner goes over some typical layout designs for the Cart.

Checkout: UVP icon’s should be PNG’s and have a transparent background. Suppress the company field. Remove the “Comments” section at the bottom. Tanner addresses the “Create Account” section.

    Critique 5

    2:20:50 – Critique number 5 is for Keith – https://kpbase.com/. Camping/Utility.

Homepage: Images and headlines are cut off on the homepage banner. The video is bugged and won’t play the video on the page. The video section should be a lot smaller and recognizable that it is a video.

Product Page: Video broken. Thumbnail of the video should include the face of the Shark who is endorsing the product, but it needs to also show the product within the thumbnail. Order bumps need to be clear and don’t require additional research. Otherwise your users have to leave the product page to learn more about another product.

Tanner mentions how a step-by-step process of the product will help convey your message and answer some questions your users may have.

Collection Page: Link to the collection page is broken.

Tanner discusses the site isn’t optimized for different devices and browsers and offers advice on how Keith could solve the problem.

    Critique 6

    2:43:00 – Critique number 6 is for Charles Gregory – https://www.clubearlybird.com/order-380211421586983519890. Supplements.

ClickFunnel Page: Tanner discusses Shopify vs. ClickFunnels. Tanner speaks about creating a Shopify store and using CF as well. This will really help with repeat customers. Tanner talks about some issues you can run into selling these types of products. Having multiple merchant accounts to cover your butt!

We have found that moving buttons can in fact hurt conversions. The text appears to be bolded, this decreases readability. If it isn’t bold, consider changing your font to a font that has a lower weight. The most popular option needs more emphasis. Tanner mentions some creative ways Charles can push his video.

Lowest hanging fruit for this store is the fact that the recurring payments are not automated.

    Critique 7

3:12:50 – Critique number 7 is for Sheharyar Patel – https://www.lampeez.com/. Lamp Collections.

Homepage: No need to have ‘Home’ in the main navigation. Bring your 2 collections out on to the main navigation. Aleks asks a very important question, “Why should I buy from you?”. This needs to be represented first and foremost on your homepage. Remove non-money making links from the main navigation.

Collection Page: There are no filters on the collection page for a user to narrow down their selection. Matt mentions that the hierarchy of focus is off and isn’t sure what to focus on, as there is a lot going on with all the products within the images. For visually stimulating products 1×1 product wide on mobile would typically perform better. Matt mentioned that the massive price cut from retail causes fear in the quality of the product.

Product Page: Remove payment icons and replace these with unique value proposition icons. Need to have a sizing comparison between the 2 variants.

Lowest hanging fruit for this store is setting up the backend flows and creating filters for your collection pages.
