Summary of Jam Session:
In this session we did 3 critiques. Brent Bottelsen – Health Shakes. Ruben Cordero – Dance Shoes. Deven Davis – Designer Jewelry.
Critiques:
Critique 1
0:05:00 – Critique number 1 is for Brent Bottelsen, http://type2diet.com/. Meal replacement shake for type 2 diabetes reversal.
Homepage: Chat apps should not automatically pop up. “Products” is a very vague collection link, this should just be the one product you are selling. Matt and Tanner discuss the main navigation links and how they should be represented. Value proposition icons could be a little more prominent. Include bundles on top level navigation.
Collection Page: Combine products that are the same, just with different variants.
Product Page: UVP icons are hard to read. Suppress reviews stars on products that do not have any reviews. Ingredients chart should have it’s own tab in product description. Tanner mentions testing a longer form product page like Organifi to really educate the visitors. Include different size variants on the product page. Remove auto-scroll and theme reviews, replace it with your review app.
Cart: Currently one proceed to checkout button is performing better than two right now. Cleaner cart without reviews and icons is also performing better.
Checkout: Improve on the checkout logo, it can be bigger and fill out more space. Suppress amazon pay. Button color doesn’t match other CTA buttons. Checkout fields are missing microtext.
Tanner talks about adding a subscription model, starting it off on the backend then implementing it to your product page.
Critique 2
0:42:45 – Critique number 2 is for Ruben Cordero, https://yamishoes.com/. Dance Shoes.
Homepage: Matt talks about prioritizing things that make us money. Label your cart icon with “Cart” underneath. Great example of a homepage banner. Travis offers some advice with the feature call out on the banner.
Category Page: Some issues with the variants.
Product Page: Because there are a lot of sizes offered, it should be in a dropdown menu.
Cart: Great example of an ajax cart.
Checkout: Remove company field. Text under the breadcrumbs are quite hard to read.
Landing Page: Product image is transparent when zoomed in. Travis finds a great example of a unique value proposition. Remove any links that take them off your page. Add a choose your size option further down the landing page.
Critique 3
1:15:00 – Critique number 3 is for Deven Davis, https://www.romadesignerjewelry.com/.
Homepage: Matt suggests moving the account feature to the footer. Change the verbiage for shipping rates. Change from “free shipping over x amount” to “we pay shipping over x amount”.
Product Page: Fix afterpay widget. Remove next and previous functionality on the product page.
Cart: Test adding Paypal and Afterpay as icons, instead of obvious credit card options. Total doesn’t include shipping costs, therefore it is a sub-total.
Checkout: The team discusses simplifying the copy on the cart as there is a lot to read.
