    Critiques:

    Critique 1

0:22:10 – Critique number 1 is for Brandon Houston, https://thespinsterz.com/. Hula Hoops Store.

Homepage: The main value proposition in the banner is pushed down, due to the size of the desktop banner. The team have noticed putting the companies phone number in the top shipping bar instead of your support email is more effective.

Brandon’s menu items are very lengthy. The homepage isn’t meant to provide every product, it is to help navigate your customers to a relevant collection page, where they then can filter down to the products they are looking for.

Product Page: Tanner talks about click debt. Takes too many clicks to just get to a product page. Your customer should be able to reach your product page with no more than 3 clicks. Ensure your product images are all the same size (600×600).

    Critique 2

0:42:40 – Critique number 2 is for Geetha Kumari Kammepalli, https://coolgalboutique.com/. Clothing Boutique.

Geetha’s questions are mainly traffic focused. Having issues with getting sales through FB. Matt and Tanner offer advice on what Geetha should focus on. Matt mentions getting feedback from the few buyers you have. Then implementing what you learn from your buyers.

Homepage: The homepage banner is lacking a unique value proposition. Your customers should know right away what you sell and what makes you different from your competitors. Matt and Tanner talk about Geetha broadening her target audience and how this may not be a good idea.

    Critique 3

0:58:55 – Critique number 3 is for Chamber McClay, https://campingislife.com/. Camping Store.

After hearing Chamber’s metrics, the team realize that the problem is Chamber’s ATC. This could be due to poor targeting, or poor product choice. The biggest seller’s product images need to be improved. Once a product starts selling, you should personally get the product and take professional high quality images for it. The product descriptions need some TDC, they look like AliExpress product descriptions. Do not ignore 2 of the most important selling factors on your product page.

    Critique 4

    1:13:50 – Critique number 4 is for Larry Knopf’s Son. Co-owner of https://wu90watches.com/. Premium Watches & Accessories.

The Knopf’s are struggling to make sales, not sure what to do next. Matt and Tanner advise the pair to ensure their GA is accurate and everything is being tracked correctly. Matt mentions reaching out to previous buyers and asking them, is there anything that almost made you not buy our product.

Product Page: Matt talks about the unique value proposition icons located under the ATC button. They look clipart-ish and do not seem trustworthy. For a premium store with expensive products, trust is going to be one of the biggest objections your visitors will have.

    Critique 5

1:28:06 – Critique number 5 is for Shelly Vandermeulen, https://sjccoutureshop.com/. Unique Apparel Store that designs and manufactures their own sun protective clothing.

Homepage: The banner is very distracting and confusing. There are navigation links that mean nothing to cold traffic audience because it relates to a B&M store. Matt and Tanner go over how Shelly could improve her navigation and reduce click fear.

Matt explains the importance of Visual Hierarchy.

    Critique 6

1:46:30 – Critique number 6 is for Joey Dominguez, https://www.shweiki.com/. Print Business

Joey and his team are about to spend an arm and a leg to have a developer make big changes to their store. This is a unique business not on the Shopify Platform. Matt and Tanner go through how Joey can improve the functionality of the store, including checkout. Matt talks about prototypicality and using verbiage that customers are used to.

The main focus of this critique is on the Checkout and how this can be streamlined.

    Critique 7

2:06:55 – Critique number 7 is for Jackie Rive, https://brookbyherbs.com/. Supplements for Horses & Dogs.

Homepage: The team dive straight into the layout of the store. Too much use of a stand-out color and incorrect use of navigation links. Only money-making links should remain, everything else can be removed or moved to the footer.

Matt talks about replacing sentences with clear punchy statements. Also figuring out a way to talk to both types of customers (dog/horse).

Tanner advise Jackie not to spend a cent on advertising until tracking is successfully set up and attending the FB Friday calls with Victoria.
