Critiques:
Critique 1
0:01:55 – Critique number 1 is for Rikky Mass, https://berlinanddaughter.com/. Posture Correctors.
Homepage: The banner needs to include some stronger UVP’s. There is a lot of space to play with on desktop that can be utilized and the mobile could be prettied up a little. Find out what your customers biggest objections are and silence them. Replace the microtext in the search bar with your most searched terms. Do not use “Browse All” as a collection, it doesn’t tell the user enough information. Be clear with your money back guarantees, hassle free returns aren’t clear enough. Put a timeframe on the return policy so customers are aware. Remove automatic sliding reviews and include left and right arrows for a better user experience. Add some reviews and from credited health experts to increase trust. Include a signature note for extra trust.
Product Page: Contrast of the product tabs and add to cart button make it very difficult to read the text. Include the “As Seen On” to the homepage. Add review stars under the price with the number of reviews and link it to your reviews in the footer. Add a size chart popup under the size variants to immediately silence any sizing objections. 5 UVP’s is a little too much under the ATC making it difficult to read on mobile. Fix the verbiage of the newsletter signup. Use a dedicated reviews app that allows customers to upload their own images.
Cart Page: CTA button colors should remain the same across every page. The review styles in the cart don’t match the reviews on the product page. BGS have found a more simple cart without reviews and have improved cart performance.
Checkout: Test removing countdown timer. Add logo and support details in the checkout page.
Critique 2
0:39:50 – Critique number 2 is for Jake Eller, https://www.grillaholics.com/. Grill Accessories.
Homepage: Add some little icons next to each UVP to break up the text and avoid it appearing as a paragraph. Add most searched terms within the search bar. The banner could do with some more ‘life’. Too much black, include some lifestyle touches. Add some strong UVP icons or elements of trust to the homepage. Sort your footer links based on the highest clicked.
Collection Page: Great example of effective filters. Remove some of the unnecessary filters such as A-Z, Z-A.
Product Page: Change the body font to sans-serif fonts such as Arial or Verdana for better readability. Make sure the frequently bought together products are no-brainer products that compliment the original product. Break up the description with some high quality images. Move other featured products under the reviews section. Add the review star breakdown so users can sort by which star review they would like to look at.
Cart Page: Add paypal accepted at checkout icon.
Checkout: Size of the logo with support details need to be increased. Combine the contact information fields and shipping address fields.
Critique 3
1:11:00 – Critique number 3 is for Sam Weinstein, https://www.mintwatches.co/. Watches.
Homepage: Having obvious photoshopped imagery can damage the trust of the brand. The UVP’s aren’t necessarily strong, functional and family should be replaced. Bring the watch collections out of the drop down and on to the main navigation bar. Change “Brand” to “Our Story”. Gives the featured products a title such as “Featured Products”. Showing the price underneath a product will signify right away that it is a product. Reviews are blending into the products above. Product images aren’t congruent with each other. Use a dedicated review app for the homepage. Change the icons for the UVP’s, the generic icons are too small and not branded.
Collection Page: Product filter & search app provides a great search functionality alongside filter options for the collection page.
Product Page: Jacob suggests displaying the full price and increasing the size. Product images should include a lifestyle image of the product in scale. Avoiding heavily editing a testimonial video. Remove the stock review section since you have your review app on the page. A 30 day money back guarantee is pretty weak, especially with 20 day delivery times.
Checkout: Include breadcrumbs on the checkout page.
