0:03:35 – Critique number 1 is for Lisa Lofing, https://rusticlyinspiredsigns.com/. Wood Signs & Decor.
Homepage: Tanner gives his advice on the banner image and how to make it look more professional. Typically you would want a higher contrast from font color to background color for readability purposes. Matt talks about implementing lifestyle shots. Creating a brand video explaining the process of their business.
Product Page: If you have products without reviews, create a script so the stars do not show.
Checkout: If your store was created before January 2019, you should have CB app installed.
Critique 2
0:29:00 – Critique number 2 is for Louis Wyant, https://beinggrandparents.shop/. POD store for Grandparents.

Critique 3
0:40:40 – Critique number 3 is for Geeta Powani, https://mymias.com.au/. Natural Skin Care for Kids.
Homepage: The team discuss the visual hierarchy of the page, clearing up product images and removing prices from homepage. How to present the companies main value propositions, what differentiates yourself from the competition.
Product Page: Matt addresses the best practices that are missing. These include clear product images, UVP icons, price, hierarchy of focus.
Critique 4
0:59:00 – Critique number 4 is for Dan Carlin, https://invigoratedwater.com/. Water filtration.
Homepage: Tanner talks specifically about Amazon vs. Shopify and how your brand can co-exist on both. Confusing your buyers with what looks like a wholesalers site. The value proposition is a wall of text and very wordy. The team break this down and advise Dan how he can approve this.
Collection Page: Offering your customers navigation filters so they can narrow down their choices.
Product Page: Greatly reducing the amount of thumbnails, typically you should have no more than 3-4 thumbnail images. Matt talks about success by subtraction.
Critique 5
1:31:25 – Critique number 5 is for Oksana Irwin, https://cutebabiesonly.com/. Baby store.
Homepage: Tanner begins with the verbiage on the banner. Reworking the homepage to remove irrelevant features that do not belong on a homepage.
Collection Page: Remove color swatch from the collection page, we have split tested this and results show this to be ineffective. It slows down page speed.
Product Page: The team talk about taking your time to write conversational copy for product descriptions. Write your descriptions as if you were explaining it to them in person.
Cart: Add paypal accepted icon on the cart. This is a current best practice.
Checkout: A couple minor changes to match best practices.
Critique 6
1:57:50 – Critique number 6 is for Sara Bozic, https://thurteentees.com/. Travel niche.
Homepage: After Sara informs the team on what her business is about, Tanner talks about the importance of telling the story on the homepage, and About Us page. Disable sliders, sliders have never out-performed static collections or products.
Product Page: Do not offer every color because you can. Figure out your 4-5 max best sellers and delete the rest. Replace payment icons with actual value propositions. Font size should be a minimum 16px. Filters should appear on the left hand side of collection page.
Critique 7
2:14:55 – Critique number 7 is for Saleem Jadaliah, https://www.nicheforbeach.com/. Beach store.
Homepage: Do not have pop-ups that appear instantly when a visitor lands on your site. Tanner addressed some homepage practices, to reorder some products and collections.
Product Page: Avoid using ghost buttons, they are not effective. Your CTA should stand out above all else. Tanner talks about the product description being too long and boring.
Checkout: Logo image needs to be enlarged for readability. Background color of checkout should remain white, it is taking away the focus from your checkout fields.
Critique 8
2:38:05 – Critique number 8 is for Eduardo Casado, https://nustait.com/. Nootropics company.
Tanner gives his honest opinion on trying Eduardo’s product personally.
Homepage: Tanner talks about adding some video proof/testimony on the homepage to increase trust. Aleks mentions improving on the banners value propositions.
Product Page: Aleks talks about handling the Keto objection. Tanner discusses rewording some description and stopping the automatic sliding reviews. You can have arrows on the left and right so your customer can navigate at their own speed.
Checkout: Tanner goes over Checkout best practices.
Critique 9
3:04:20 – Critique number 9 is for Jacob Militor, https://www.comelysupply.com/. Luxury Clothing.
Homepage: Recently purchased app is overused and used by spammy sites. With a high-end store this should not be associated with your store. UVP’s need to be bigger and stand out.
Product Page: Reduce the amount of white space on top of the product image. Completely redesign the UVP icons under the ATC. The team advise on certain color schemes that could represent ‘luxury’ better.
Checkout: If your customers aren’t using certain payment methods such as Google Pay, then remove it. It’s an unnecessary distraction.
