Critiques:
Critique 1
0:00:00 – Critique number 1 is for Jacqueline Linder, https://www.lunchbots.com/. Stainless steel lunch box
Homepage: Matt and Tanner talk about offering a better incentive to get their email. Also, make sure the popup is on exit-intent only. Using conversational copywriting so your customers can relate to you instead of sounding very corporate. Adding search is an absolute MUST!
Collection Page: Taking the visual hierarchy away from the headers to focus on the product images. Matt talks about the paradox of choice.
Product Page: The team talk about the site looking a bit too clinical, they refer to adding lifestyle shots of happy kids with their lunchbox. Product page needs reviews. Adding UVP’s.
Cart: Remove popup cart, or add a slide cart to reduce cognitive load. No clear shipping details to help customers outside of the USA.
Checkout: Rewording some of the fields to BGS standard. Ensuring you are taking advantage of SMS retargeting. Adding inline field labels.
Critique 2
0:42:00 – Critique number 2 is for Michael Monahan, https://mysticbarrels.com/. Use Wine Barrels, Decoration.
Homepage: Do not add too much microtext in search bar. The team share their thoughts on on banner and how it could be improved. Michael added a great map showing where he can deliver to, the team also discuss how this could be iterated.
Collection Page: Clearing up confusion within the product thumbnails to accurately represent true size.
Product Page: Repress reviews if you have none. The team talk about reviews being too perfect could have a negative effect.
Cart: 3-4 icons max under the checkout button. Do not add countless credit options as people only use 3-4 anyway.
Checkout: Add paypal accepted in the checkout logo. You can find Checkout Hacks in the Brain. Breadcrumb colors need to be reversed.
Critique 3
1:06:00 – Critique number 3 is for Dexter Salon, https://gabbyswinkshop.com/. Krill Treats for Dogs.
Homepage: Clarity trumps persuasion. The homepage is not used to sell products, it is for trust and navigation. Remove all caps and bold from titles and reviews, you don’t want to scream at your customers.
Product Page: The team talk about how Dexter is portraying certain information. Nutritional information is super important for ingestibles.
Cart: The UVP’s are way too big and distracting, it is taking away the focus from the proceed to checkout.
Checkout: Utilize the white space above the information field on first page of checkout.
